The conference fee includes:

  • Admission to all sessions of the 5th ASLE/ASEAN Ecocritical Conference (plenary, panel, and special sessions)
  • Conference materials
  • Refreshments
  • Lunch on Thursday 23 and Friday 24
  • Welcome dinner on Thursday 23
  • Membership of ASLE/ASEAN (a chapter of ASLE)

The conference fee needs to be paid by all participants, whether they will be presenting a paper onsite, online, or attending the conference without presenting a paper. The format of the conference has been set as hybrid, which means that participants may choose to attend the conference and present a paper onsite at MFU Chiang Rai campus or present it online via Zoom. Please note that online presentations might be scheduled on online parallel sessions with other online participants. To be able to participate in all parallel sessions during the two days of the conference, you would need to register as an onsite participant. In any case, both forms of presentation require participants to pay the same conference fee as detailed above. No discounts for online presenters can be given. Similarly, non-presenting participants need to pay the conference fee in full.

Professionals (researchers, lecturers, other) who earn less than 500 USD per month are eligible for a discount in the conference fee (they will have to pay the fee corresponding to a postgraduate student) by sending proof of income (e.g., salary or payroll slip from last 3 months) to the ASLE/ASEAN secretary at the following email address: cpham012@ucr.edu. Please do not upload proof of income directly to the registration form. To apply for the fee discount, you will need to receive a certificate from ASLE/ASEAN first. When registering, upload this certificate only.

Ecocultural Tour Fee:

There is an additional fee of THB 1,500 (USD 45) to be paid only by those participants who want to join the optional Ecocultural Tour of Chiang Rai on Saturday 25. If you want to join this tour, please add this fee to the conference fee above and transfer both fees together in the same payment (see instructions below). This fee covers all the visits, transportation, guides, and lunch for the one-day tour (more information about the tour will be provided in the program of the conference).

  1. Make a single payment in Thai Baht for all the fees to the following bank account:

    • Bank charges and transaction fees are to be borne by the remitting party, so that the destination account receives the full fees due (Conference Fee + Ecocultural Tour Fee)

  2. Print or scan the confirmation slip with the details of your payment as a PDF file
  3. Click the 'Register' button below and fill out the online Registration Form with your details
  4. Use the same Registration Form to upload:
    • Confirmation slip of your payment as a PDF file
    • Valid proof of being an undergraduate or graduate student (only if you are registering as such)
    • Valid proof of being a fee-paying member of ASLE (only if you are requesting a fee reduction)
    • Valid proof of being a current MFU employee (only if you are requesting a fee reduction)
    • Certificate of eligibility for fee reduction based on income issued by ASLE/ASEAN (only if you are requesting a fee reduction)
  5. Submit the form (you should receive an email with a copy of your submission, keep this email as proof of registration).
  6. Wait for an email from asleasean@mfu.ac.th confirming your registration (to be sent after October 1st). If there is any problem with your registration you will be informed via email before October 15th.

Onsite participants will be given a receipt at the start of the conference. Online participants will be sent a receipt to the address indicated in the registration form, also at the start of the conference. If you need a receipt before then, please send us an email to asleasean@mfu.ac.th with your request.

Policy on non-presenting participants: After the online registration has been closed, it is NOT possible to register to attend the conference onsite. Given the large number of participants, WE WILL NOT allow walk-in registrations during the conference. However, it is still be possible to register as a NON-PRESENTING ONLINE participant. To register to access the conference online through Zoom please use this form. The deadline for this late online registration is 19 November 2023.
